My 21 year old got pulled over in West Virginia for going too slow and having too many passengers in the car. She got a summons to appear in court. What are the laws in West Virginia with regard to this? Thank you.
Without knowing the exact West Virginia statutes that your son was cited under we can only tell you the ones we believe that would fit the violations you described. One is under WV Code 17C-6-3a which is minimum speed regulations and penalties. This West Virginia law states...

I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico and someone broke my back window of my car, the rear windshield. Can I get a ticket for driving around with it this way because I won't be able to afford to fix it for a while and I need to drive my car. Thanks
The New Mexico Department of Traffic Safety stated to us that a driver can be cited for anything that would obstruct their ability to see clearly. New Mexico Statute 66-3-846 speaks about an unobstructed view being required. Here it states: A. No person shall drive any mot...

My husband received a complaint ticket in CT for doing 68 in a 55. He was in a tractor trailer. The stat/ord. no is 14-219c. Does this mean that he was written up for a non-truck violation when he was, in fact, in a tractor trailer? Or does it just mean that he officer used radar. I am getting conflicting information when I search online. The 14-219(c) online is a non-truck going over 70MPH. He was a tractor trailer doing under 70MPH so wouldn't this just be a 14-219?
Your husband can always call the court to get help understanding what he was cited under, to indeed see if it was the right offense for going 68 in a 55 in a tractor trailer, however it is a speeding violation under Connecticut law - that is for certain. It would appear to us...

I was told you don't have to have insurance if your car is paid for in the states of Alabama and Mississippi, is that true?
If your car is paid off in Alabama and Mississippi you still must have minimum state car insurance coverages on it so your information is not true. When you no longer have a lien holder on your vehicle you do not need to carry physical damage coverages of Collision and Compre...

I have a learner license in Saskatchewan, Canada for a year and I am moving to Ontario. Can I apply for Ontario G2 or no? I have taken all the classes and the road class in Saskatchewan.
You should contact the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) to find out for certain if you can apply for a G2 at this time or must obtain a G1 (which is like your learner's license from Saskatchewan) and then move up to the G2 in time. According to the Ontario Ministry of...

My child had her license suspended until she is 18 years old (7 more months). Now I can't get insurance because she lives with me in my house. How can I get insurance for myself?
You will need to see if you can find an insurance company that will allow you to exclude your daughter from your auto insurance policy so that you can get the car insurance you need for your vehicle. Due to your child's actions that got her driver's license suspended it would ...

If a teenager with a driver's permit gets pulled over who gets the ticket?
State laws differ but in general if you have are a teenager with a learner's permit, thus are required to have a supervising driver beside of you in the front seat, and are stopped for a traffic violation it is the driver that would receive the ticket. Though as a permit hold...
An insurance deductible is the amount that you pay before your insurance company’s policy takes effect. If you ask for a higher deductible, you may be able to cut your costs by up to 40%... but keep in mind that, in the event of a claim, you may have to spend a lot more.
More and more these days, insurers use your credit score to determine risk factors before making an insurance quote. So check your credit rating to make sure nothing is amiss. Other tactics to keep your credit score high include paying bills on time, closing credit card accounts that you are not using, and keeping your credit balances as low as possible. Credit scores can take several months to adjust to new situations, so don’t expect an immediate benefit.
Many insurance providers try to maximize profits from their users by cutting the payments into monthly fees, then adding in finance charges on top of the actual policy cost. People who plan ahead can avoid these nuisance fees by purchasing the entire policy up front. No matter what form of insurance you are buying, discounts exist for customers that carry less risk to the insurance company. Make sure you ask for all possible discounts before accepting a quote. The squeaky wheel gets the grease!
